Number & T-Shirt Pickup

Update: Packet Pick up will remain in its usual location in the stadium lobby.

You must come to the Sports Club (Stadium Entrance) to pick up your race day number on:

If you do not pick up your race day number at this time, you will forfeit your registration fee. Participants will receive a race shirt at the time the race numbers are picked up.

For this year's runners, we have unisex dry wicking race shirts in adult and chilren's sizes.

Race numbers and shirts are not available on race day.

Your Number

Your race number should be worn on your front (shirt or shorts) the morning of the race. Please do not exchange numbers with anyone else! The number assigned to you must be worn by you. Please do not pin down the "tear off" tag...only pin the four corners of the actual race number .

Dress Code

Do not overdress on race morning if temperatures are above 50° . If it's a cold morning (sub 40°) then we recommend bringing some warm clothes to put on after the event (for the awards ceremony).

No Dogs

Due to the large number of participants, dogs are no longer permitted at this event.

Arrival

You should arrive no later than 8:30am on race day. Roads will be closed off at 8:45am and the race will start promptly at 9:00. Be aware that traffic on 250 West moves along but prohibits quick access to the race area, so please arrive early to ensure a prompt start.

Parking

There will be parking attendants to direct traffic to parking spots. The earlier you arrive, the easier it will be to find a parking spot. We recommend arriving at 8:30am or before to park; roads will be closed off at 8:45am.

Starting Lines

For the safety of participants, once again there will be two separate starting lines. Start Line 1 will be for those wishing to run the race who are 14 years or older. NO BABY JOGGERS/STROLLERS IN THIS AREA. Start Line 2 will be for those kids (13 and younger) wishing to run and for anyone wishing to walk. Runners with a baby stroller/jogger should also be in this area.

Start Time

The race will begin promptly at 9:00am.

Running/Walking the Course

Please start slowly, especially those children running it for the first time. The course is extremely hilly so please pace yourself. Fast starters usually finish last!

Covering the Course

Please be considerate of your fellow entrants (no pushing or cutting them off). Because of the configuration of the course, there are spots where participants will be doubling back on the field. At this point, please observe the rules of the road by staying to the left of the cones. Your running time will be read to you at the one mile and two mile marks. Members of the Charlottesville Track Club, the Western Albemarle Cross-Country Team and the Boar's Head Staff will safely guide you along the well marked course. View the course on the Course Map page.

FINISHING

After crossing the finish line, please proceed quickly to the end of the chutes and hand in your tear-off tag. Exiting out of order will make it impossible for us to record accurate finish times. For the safety of the runners coming in behind you, please DO NOT STOP IN THE CHUTES! For individual race results, click on the Race Results link above.

HAVE FUN!
